Intro
Most coaches know something is off with their website. They just don’t know exactly what. So nothing gets fixed, the site stays up, and the problem quietly continues to cost them clients every single week.
Here is a 5-point self-audit you can do in the next 15 minutes. No analytics account required. Just you and an honest look at your website.
Check 1 — The 5-Second Test
Open your website on your phone (not your laptop, most of your visitors are on mobile). Set a timer for 5 seconds. Read whatever you can in that time. Then ask: could a stranger tell (a) who this is for, (b) what problem you solve, and (c) what to do next?
If the answer to any of those is no, your headline is not doing its job.
Check 2 — The “How Do I Buy?” Test
Pick your most expensive or most important offer. From your homepage, try to get to checkout in under 3 clicks. Can you do it? Most coaches can’t. There’s a homepage, then a services page, then a contact form, then an email exchange, then a Calendly link, then a discovery call, then… eventually a sale.
Every step between “I’m interested” and “I’ve paid” is a place people drop off. Reduce the steps.
Check 3 — The Load Speed Test
Go to PageSpeed Insights (free Google tool and just search it). Enter your URL. A score below 50 on mobile means you are losing visitors before they read a word. Common culprits: uncompressed images, cheap hosting, too many plugins, heavy page builders.
This one has a significant financial impact and most coaches have no idea it’s happening.
Check 4 — The Testimonial Test
Find your testimonials. Do they describe a specific transformation and a before and after, a number, a concrete life change? Or do they describe how nice you are to work with?
“Sarah is warm and insightful” does not convert. “I went from $3k/month and totally burnt out to $9k/month with a 4-day work week in 8 months” converts.
Ask your best clients for updated testimonials that describe the outcome. Most will say yes.
Check 5 — The Follow-Up Test
If someone opts into your email list right now, what happens? Do they get a welcome email within 5 minutes? Do they get 4–6 emails over the next two weeks introducing you, sharing your story, demonstrating your expertise, and offering a next step?
Or do they get nothing until the next time you remember to send a newsletter?
If there’s no automated welcome sequence running, most of your opt-ins are going cold. That’s fixable in a week with the right setup.
